OB appointment 30 weeks and 5 days!

Only 65 days to go!!!

We had our OB appointment today and an ultrasound to check her growth. I don't know what to call her anymore because she doesn't fit into the moose-ette or the peanut category anymore! She is in the 60%, so she is within normal ranges. She weighs 3lbs 14oz right now, which is about a 1/2 lb heavier than the books say for weight. She has chubby cheeks, Mom's toes, Dad's head and lips.
It's still a girl! We were pretty happy to hear that and she is still wonderfully healthy! These are her girl parts. I am sure that she will love that picture when she is older. The tech told us that girls look like tulips :)

The above picture shows her dimple in her cheek! Then you can see her showing off her pouty lip! The tech had to push a little harder near my pelvis to see her face, she is down pretty low already! Then she got mad and started crying! LOL I think its hilarious now, but I am sure I won't enjoy it later! Did you know that could do that in utero?

I will have to scan in the other photo of her hair floating in the amniotic fluid! It seems soooo long!

We were so excited to see her today and be reassured of her health. Only about 9 more weeks and we will get to meet this little beauty!

Steve is running a 25K in memory of Faith on May 9th!

We had a great night with Tanner, Kristin, Lily, and the Klunder Family. It was so great to see them again. They are all an amazing group of people. Lily was such a good girl! She is so precious. Steve and I both held her for quite some time!!!! I even got spit up on...how sweet. We look forward to seeing them again before our little one is born.

That's our update for now. We have an OB appointment and ultrasound on April 30th. More news then!

OB visit

We are now almost 29 weeks! I feel like time is starting to move by quickly, but at the same time I just want to meet her already! I want to know that she is safe and healthy and in our arms.

The doctor said that I am still measuring ahead. Which I knew since on Monday night she was trying to touch or elbow my lungs! That was a new and very uncomfortable experience. We go back to the OB in two weeks and will have an ultrasound to see if I have extra fluid or a moosette inside me!

Things are continuing to go well here. Steve and I are getting used the daily grind of school after Spring Break. Some of the teachers have started counting down the days:) The kids are all really great though and I will surely miss them next year!

We hope that things are going well your way! We will continue to keep you posted on Miss Peanut/Moosette's progress!

Spring Break 2009 Pictures

Happy Angel Day baby girl!

Today marks one year since Faith grew her wings. Steve and I spent the day in the Great Smokey Mountains. We walked through the town of Gatlinburg and saw 50 JUMBO bumble bees! Then we headed to the National Park welcome center and learned about a trail we could walk. We took traveled along a motor trail and were supposed to stop and hike a mile to a waterfall. WELL...I am way out of shape, plus there isn't as much oxygen up there:) So we just continued on the motor trail. We saw several butterflies. Yellow Swallowtails, an orange butterfly, a mini purple butterfly, and some cabbage butterflies. It was so beautiful and peaceful. We were close to nature and all that God created. It gave me an overwhelming sense of peace about the loss of our precious daughter. We miss her everyday.

The ability to talk about her and raise awareness in her memory have helped us so much in our journey of grief. Don't get me wrong, we definately have our down days. But it has all helped to make this Angel Day "easier" than it might have been otherwise. With Miss Peanut on the way, we hope that we can continue being so active in awareness. Faith's sister will be there cheering us on and helping to raise awareness.

Our last awareness activites for Faith (till the baby is born) will be in May and then not again until October (possibly August when the CDH families whose children were born or cared for at the University of Michigan, host dinner at the Ronald McDonald House of Ann Arbor). On May 9th, 2009 Steve will be running in the 5/3 River Bank Run in Grand Rapids, MI. He is running the 25K in memory of Faith. The next day is Mother's Day and that Monday, May 11th is a blood drive in memory of Faith at our church, Cornerstone United Methodist Church, Caledonia, MI.

Thank you to all of you who lifted us up in prayer on this day. I know that your prayers helped us find peace on this sad day in our lives. We love you all and cannot express how much you all mean to us!

Busy busy busy...

Things have been very busy around here. Last weekend Steve costumed for a local hockey game to raise money for a local charity.

This weekend we went to a Mom2Mom sale in Grand Rapids and bought lots of clothes. Being pregnant and expecting is such a different feeling this time around. It took us awhile to get into shopping at the sale for the baby, but then we were picking up lots of different things. We still haven't found an outfit to bring her home in. I think that will probably be last minute. I know that we will bring her home, but won't truly believe it until she is in the car seat and we are walking out the door!

Our school had its Spring Carnival on Saturday. Steve and his Star Wars friends costumed to raise money for CHERUBS in memory of Faith. We raised $130.00 at the carnival and $70 in outside donations. We were very happy since we are a small school!

Today is Steve's 29th birthday! I "made" him sausage McGriddles for breakfast and his parents came to town for a late lunch. Now we are all watching the basketball games.

Miss Peanut is very active. I don't think that she is going to sleep much. She is awake often throughout the day and usually wakes me up at 2:30AM and 6:30 AM. We are so excited as we get closer and closer to her arrival. We are currently 26 weeks along! She can hear our voices now and likes to treat me as a punching bag:)
